Ichiban crosses Goddess

Monsoon Winter 5 & 6

The plan was to complete two 45-minute windward / leewards which would see racing wrapped up by 1530 latest on Saturday, the 6th of December. This would give everyone enough time to join the prize-giving. First away were four J/80s with the young sailors of the Nansha Sailing Association making their mark at the pin. Four minutes later, a varied fleet of 15 cruisers, competing under PHS/ORC, jostled for position as the 1305 start approached. On the horn, Ocean’s Five and Bucephalus led the fleet away.

First boat home was Jazz which also won the J/80s ahead of Baring Asia 2 and Jive. Ocean’s Five took line honours in PHS/ORC but was relegated to 2nd behind Bucephalus on handicap.

The J/80s were first to start the final, Race 6. Nansha Sailing led the way and finished victorious. In the PHS/ORC division, things worked out well for Goddess with a 1st on handicap.

The prize-giving back at the club was lively and enjoyed by all. Along with the day prizes, presentations were made for the Overall series. Nansha Sailing Association (Jazz) was crowned winner of the J/80s with five bullets and one discard. In the cruising division, PHS/ORC, Rob Cook’s Ichiban scored a 1st and Bucephalus a 2nd.
